These school holidays, Wonder Words Speech Pathology is running small-group, therapist-led programs designed to support children to build social communication skills in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.

Our groups combine collaborative play, problem-solving, emotional awareness, and movement — because social learning happens best when children feel safe, engaged, and regulated.

September School Holidays

Program Structure

Week 1:

  • 22nd, 23rd, 24th September

    • 10:00am – 11:00am - SPOTS AVAILABLE

    • 2:00pm - 3:00pm - SPOTS AVAILABLE


Week 2:

  • 29th, 30th September & 1st October

    • 10:00am – 11:00am - LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

    • 2:00pm - 3:00pm - LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

🗓 Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
👥 Maximum 4 children per group
📍 Held at our Malvern East clinic
✨ Programs are available for 3-5 years & 6-8 years (+ older children depending on interest!)

Attendance is required for all 3 days, as skills build across sessions and peer relationships strengthen over time.

Open to both current Wonder Words families and the wider community (screening required prior to enrolment).

Program Focus

Our holiday groups target real-world social communication skills that children need across home, school, and community settings.

Children will be supported to:

🔤 Use functional social language (e.g. requesting help, negotiating turns, expressing ideas, self-advocating)

🧸 Practise entering and maintaining play

💭 Express their reasoning and perspectives while acknowledging others’ ideas

🧠 Develop awareness that everyone thinks, learns, and communicates differently

💕 Build emotional awareness and regulation strategies

🛠️ Practise problem-solving during peer interactions

🌈 Experience shared success through collaboration and “joint fun”

  • This program may suit children who:

    • Find group play tricky or overwhelming

    • Thrive with structured support in small groups

  • $160 per session
    $480 total for the 3-day program

    The full program fee includes:

    ✔️ Three structured group sessions
    ✔️ Small group (maximum 4 children)
    ✔️ Individualised goal tracking
    ✔️ Written summary report
    ✔️ Certificate of completion
    ✔️ Speech Pathologist and AHA facilitation 

    Optional additional feedback sessions (via phone or Google Meet) with the facilitating speech pathologist can be booked separately (billed according to time taken)

    NDIS funding may be used where goals align with social communication and regulation supports. Private health rebates may apply depending on your cover.
